Plans for TEDxKinjarling have taken a leap forward this week with the confirmation that nine speakers (presenting seven speeches) have been chosen to present ideas worth sharing on the Albany Town Hall stage on 29 January 2022.
TEDxKinjarling, an independently organised event based on the tradition of TED Talks, recognises the city’s Indigenous heritage by naming the conference in the Noongar tradition.
A TEDx licence was secured earlier this year by Albany resident Kristen Pyrz-Brown, who was keen to play a role in sparking deep discussions and connections in the region after meeting a series of “inspirational” locals.
The nominated speakers, including some combined presentations, are:

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. Behind TEDxKinjarling
TEDxKinjarling is run by a committee of local volunteers and speaking coaches. Committee members include Kristen Pyrz-Brown, Karen Timmins, Tim Maisey, Kriss Logan, Anne Sparrow, Stuart Roberts and Matt Beamish.
